Een brandstofpomp is een onderdeel van een motorvoertuig dat vloeistof van de brandstoftank overbrengt naar de carburateur of brandstofinjector van de verbrandingsmotor. Koolstofmotoren gebruiken vaak mechanische lagedrukpompen die buiten de brandstoftank zijn gemonteerd, terwijl brandstofinjectiemotoren vaak elektrische brandstofpompen gebruiken die in de brandstoftank zijn gemonteerd. Brandstofpompstoringen kunnen worden veroorzaakt door elektrische storingen, ouderdom (slijtage) of brandstofvervuiling (vuil, vocht of slecht gas). Brandstofpompdefecten treden vaak zonder waarschuwing op.
